Clarkson Grain Celebrates a Decade of Strong Partnership with Evercorn, Inc.
August 1, 2024 – Clarkson Grain Company proudly marks ten years of successful collaboration with Evercorn, Inc., a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of Japan Cornstarch Co., Ltd. (JCS). This decade-long partnership has focused on securing high-quality corn through grower agreements, ensuring a stable supply for JCS’s wet-milling operations in Japan. Evercorn plays a crucial role by providing timely and accurate market information from U.S. farmers and suppliers to their Japanese counterparts.
On June 17, 2024, twenty-five colleagues from Clarkson, JCS, and Evercorn gathered for a virtual celebration of this milestone. The event included a contract signing ceremony for the 2024 crop year, which begins in October. This enduring partnership facilitates a reliable, transparent, and safe corn supply chain. Corn grown by Midwestern farmers is transported directly from the fields to barges, then shipped to the Gulf of Mexico, where it is loaded onto ocean-going vessels. Upon arrival at Japan Cornstarch’s Nagoya port, the corn is processed into high-quality products with highly extractable starch.
In March 2015, Clarkson achieved a significant milestone by completing its first shipment of a Panamax-size vessel of grain to Japan. This success resulted from close collaboration with JCS as well as maintaining strong ties to U.S. farmers to grow and supply the massive amount of corn that filled the vessel.
