Clarkson Ships Panamax Vessel to Japan Corn Starch

Clarkson is proud to have recently completed its first shipment of an entire Panamax-size vessel of grain to Japan.

Working with Japan Corn Starch (JCS) to select corn varieties with high extractable starch, Clarkson contracted with Midwestern growers for the production, conditioning, and delivery of identity-preserved corn to its Beardstown, Illinois, barge site. Working with colleagues in the Gulf of Mexico and with other international contacts, Clarkson was pleased to use a mid-stream loader to load the vessel, “Coral Queen,” and meet the vessel for unloading at JCS’ Nagoya port facility with JCS staff, the Coral Queen crew, and an executive of the ship’s chartering company.
